That's right I am going to see Rammstein, my lovely fella got me sold out tickets to see them this Thursday, I am very excited, I have seen them many times before and am always in awe of their theatrical , spell bounding performances. Not every ones' cup of tea I know, but they have definitely carved my style, they awakened my Snow White addiction as a teenager (went to festivals and gigs dressed as snow white). They are story tellers, really think they need to make a film. Any who I really wanted to make a red dress as seen below, but do not have time, so think I will be donning one of my dirndl's with fresh flowers in my hair. See you in the mosh pit harhar

I promised the hilarious and adorable Mary I would show my monkey necklace in better detail, I have to admit I have a serious addiction to Topshop's Freedom jewellery! Here I am wearing my new blouse, it now has chocolate on it, I not only like to eat my food, I like to wear it. I am wearing my favourite trousers, courtesy of River Island, I seriously want another pair of trousers like this, I just want baggy, high waisted, why is that so hard? Any tips where I can get any? (cheapish). Hope you're having a ruddy great weekend!

My room is slowly being taken over by my clothes, which I don't mind. Thought I would share my most recent purchases with you! The kimono was only £8 from the Vintage Village at Stockport which I went to two weeks ago. I am a stickler for a good kimono I always feel like an eccentric artist in them.

The long light green dress with diamanté is also from Vintage Village, and it was only £10! has a few marks on it but I still intend to wear it. A fellow customer found it most amusing that I intended to wear it even if it was just around the house.

The green blouse I think is 1940s was from eBay, I adore the colour so bright!

Brrr that's all I can say it has gotten cold this weekend (well nippy), this is what I wore on Saturday to go play with my niece and sister, we were going to a cake shop, but it was too full so ended up wandering in the cold. These are three of my favourite items, wait no four.

The cape is 1960s from a vintage fair last year, I feel like Little Red Riding Hood or some other fable heroine in it. The yellow 1950s dress is from a vintage shop in Totnes, Devon, going back to Devon in May, very excited the dress is so tatty but my Mum covered the worst bits at the bottom in more flowers and the green hat is from a Paris flea market, I think I have mentioned before but I have no idea which way I am suppose to wear it. Oh and the asos shoes are ridiculously high, I managed to drive and walk to my sisters in them but then decided to switch to brogues, so ended up looking like a bag lady. Oh and fyi, I have a tripod now! my boyfriend is off the hook aha. I switched to pale raspberry lipstick, I always feel like I am cheating on my cherry red when I do this.

Oh Happy Valentines petals, I do love an excuse to dress with a theme and I am somewhat besotted with my loved one; I know it is a contrived holiday but any excuse to spoil the important people in your lives with affection should be seen as a positive. So as not to be too twee and sweet I have included my most favourite macabre love song. Also thought I would show you my Valentine's ensemble it's a 1940s evening gown that is rather weathered with a Victorian capelet which I got yesterday for a mere £15, I will show you it in better detail soon. I will die a happy person if Maynard James Keenan is singing in my ear, I have seen Tool and A Perfect Circle, and Maynard's voice is like honey, divine. I am mostly inspired by films and music and these (and Tool) are one of the bands whose videos in particular I adore.

And the original bassist Paz Lenchantin what a darling, she was one of my main inspirations as a teenager.

Oh hello there petals, how the devil are you? I tend to dress for escapism and what better place to escape to than Roman Holiday (1953). Alas I lack the elegance of Audrey, but I created one of my favourite looks of hers; all nipped in waist and tailored shirt, which is one of my favourite silhouettes. I certainly brightened up my £3 Asda shirt with a ribbon and a faithful black circle skirt.

Bonjour petals, have I ever told you about my love for Jacques Tati? yes I know I have but, I got this t-shirt and another (which I am sure I will share too) for Christmas and I love it, thought I would go the whole Tati hog with half mast trousers vintage £6! and blazer, which is part of a suit I got yonks ago on eBay but with Mr T. Gold, you would not believe the looks I got because of my white socks you would think I was wearing scuba flippers. Does it ever bother you people staring at you because you dress different to the 'norm'?

There is just something about Tati's work that gets me right to the core, its sweet and innocent yes but Tati's observant view on modernity and how we isolate ourselves from people the more advanced we get as a society is so spot on. As well as how easy it is to misunderstand a situation and people and the fact that he didn't need words to convey so many things, is just so inspiring to me, Playtime has to be one of my all time favourite films. Every shot of his work is like a piece of art so much has gone into it. But now for the funny faces;

Gene Tierney is in Thunder Birds, what more do you want? Gene plays ranch girl Kay Saunders, whose old flame Steve Britt played by Preston Foster is back in town to coach newly recruited pilots, however things get awkward when 'charming' British doctor Peter Stackhouse joins the ranks, (he is scared of heights but wants to honour the family tradition) and Kay falls for Peter, even though he is a wet blanket compared to Steve, geez. Plus Steve has a moustache so he wins for me hands down, any who it is an enjoyable film, just for the clothes really.

Today a friend in work gave me this excerpt from urban dictionary which is quite fitting for me really (charity shop whore British version). This weekend I got some right goodies; a 1940s velvet hat for £6, a cream blouse with big ass sleeves think its 70s or 80s from a newly discovered vintage stall which is local to me yay, and then a silk horse scarf for £3 and an old biddy skirt for £3.95 it is by Lakeland but looks rather 1930s, I must say, both from a charity shop. Oh and I have had this 1950s arrow brooch from eBay for awhile now and that was only £2, I am cheap. P.S I have a new phone, I have entered the 21st century it has like internet and a camera that works, hence the seductive poses y'all . I have found that I am mostly buying from charity shops these days, as vintage tends to be out of my budget half the time. Where do you spend your pennies? do you budget yourself?

I have had this 1950s toile de jouy print dress for months it was several sizes too big, but I still wore it because that's how I roll, however I finally got round to taking it in. I love cotton dresses 'need' more and it was only £10 on eBay. Do excuse the crappy hair it was my first day getting dressed after a week in bed, pin curls were not happening soz. Check out my new asos heels, I am like totally tall in them and feel like my ankles are going to snap, so that's great. I adore toile de jouy and always threaten to take my mum's curtains down a la Scarlett O'Hara, it seems Dita has already done this.

My love and admiration for Marlene has grown over the years, I never used to quite understand her charm. But then it him me, I think it took Blonde Venus to show me her charisma, charm and talent. She was a gorgeous creature, intelligent just wonderful really. I much prefer 30s style Marlene I think, but she looked gorgeous throughout. I thoroughly recommend her autobiography, she goes into great detail about how she selected materials for her clothes in Shanghai Express (the feathers were hard to get hold of). I had the pleasure of seeing a lot of her personal items and costumes at the film museum in Berlin, I got so emotional seeing it all, she is a true icon to me. Tomorrow I do believe I shall do Dietrich brows instead of my usual Crawford circa 1957.

Hello petals, nothing touches my sweet tooth like bubble gum ice cream, I have been poorly for over a week so definitely needed a treat. Me and the mister discovered Nice Ice about a month ago, it is a cute little ice cream shop, they also do candy floss ice cream! Finally watched The Artist, and it was brilliant, charming, beautiful and poignant. And the dog in it is amazing, I want to adopt him his real name is Uggie and apparently other fans have launched an Oscar campaign for him, aaaw.

Pandora and the Flying Dutchman (1951)

I fell in love with Ava Gardner some time ago, I know she was a little trouble maker, broke hearts as well as furniture, but I adore her, it happened one afternoon when I was younger and Barefoot Contessa came on the television, I was like oh my isn't she feisty with her dark locks and red lips, who doesn't like shoes and wears shawls and men fall at her feet and she can dance, I want to be her. Since then I like drawing a line on my chin to pretend I am like her (not really?). Oh and when I was about eight I started a fan collection, because I wanted to be a flamenco dancer I think I got to about three fans, need to start that again.

So I was rather chuffed when I found Pandora and the Flying Dutchman (1951), which is based on the Flying Dutchman a legend about a cursed ghost ship that cannot make port. The film stars James Mason as Hendrick van der Zee the love stricken 16th century Dutchman who is to wander eternally on the seas for killing his wife, who he believed was unfaithful to him (turns out she wasn't, darn it). Hendrick is permitted six months a shore every seven years to find a woman that is willing to die for him, only then can he be set free. Lucky for Hendrick, it turns out that Pandora Reynolds, played by Ava, an American nightclub singer who has men destructing their most prized possessions and themselves takes quite a fancy to him.

The cinematography is by the extremely talented Jack Cardiff who worked with Powell & Pressburger, honestly the technicolour is just beautiful, I wished real life looked like this. He worked on some of my favourite films; The Red Shoes and Barefoot Contessa. The film is suppose to be set in the 1930s but even me with my limited knowledge of dating clothes can tell its pure 1950s, but it still does not detract from the films beauty. Plus it is set in Spain, which was Ava's second home, and has matador's in it, she loved her a good matador. Please do excuse the excessive screen capping aha.

The guy above, Marius Goring has also starred in The Red Shoes, he falls for Pandora, but when he confesses his undying love and she is indifferent to him, he poisons himself... that's just not going to get her is it?

I have watched Bachelor Mother a couple of times and I love it, I am not a massive Ginger fan, but this film is so cute, she works in a toy department and it is set over the Christmas period. She happens to find an abandoned baby but gets into trouble with the store owner's suave son played by David Niven for her unmotherly conduct, and it has Charles Coburn, I love him. I watched Hugo last night and I loved it, it made me realise that I need to start pursuing what I want to do with my life. i.e. be more creative, seeing all these clips of George Melies work hearkened back to when I started university all starry eyed and naive that I could make a career out of what I loved, and so far it is not going so well. But after watching Coco Before Chanel for the second time I was inspired to wear it. To continue my obsession with Cracks (Eva Green) , on Saturday I decided to dress like Miss G, complete with a man's navy sweater from Paris, obviously I got that when I had a passionate affair in the 20s (vintage shop Paris), a 1940s Chinese style jacket, found in a treasure chest on the way to the Congo (eBay) and trousers from topshop (I do time travel) and shoes from an African Empress (office). Sometimes I think I put too many items on at once, as I love most of my clothes and would ideally like to wear them all at once, I am a Gemini, my mood changes like the...

Cracks (2009)

This is one of my favourite films, Eva Green's performance as Miss G, a sociopathic swimming instructor at an all girl's boarding school is enchanting and damn right wince worthy (in a good way). Miss G, is seen as an outlaw at the school, her tales of forbidden love and exotic countries have her pupils enraptured. Cracks is based on the novel by Sheila Kohler about a group of school girls whose lives are interrupted by the arrival of a beautiful and gifted Italian princess, who takes the sacred affection of Miss G away from them. The clothes and setting are downright dreamy, Juno Temple's performance is also fantastic. This film always inspires my wardrobe, as does Miss G's room I love the dark blue walls, with accents of gold.

I want to copy the yellow ensemble.

Ever since watching Ichi the Killer when I was studying the very amazingly bizarre and visceral director Takashi Miike I have been fascinated with Tadanobu Asano he is an amazing actor, I have only seen a handful of his films, but I need to get my mitts on more. I thoroughly recommend Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan.

I have just added this to my love film rent list, looks right up my street; mental.

I love this woman, her voice, her look, her acting oh and if you haven't read her autobiography Be Myself and then Some I suggest you do, she is witty, sharp and sardonic. She was the perfect model for my favourite era of clothing, I bought a hounds tooth suit a la Slim in To Have and Have Not just so I can pretend I am as sleek as her.

I have this picture in my room, it is such a classic look that I always love.

Nothing says Christmas like sparkle and nothing says I am a sophisticated lady like a pair of glittery mary janes; they say look I have the mentality of a five year old, but oh yes I can walk in massive heels, I am successful in life. Oh and my chain mail 1930s bag is a present from me lovely via eBay, snazzy eh? The shoes are from marks and sparks.

Do you like? they were rather cheap and one and half sizes smaller than usual, which makes me feel feminine, and confused about shoe sizes.

I am having a Veronica Lake month, I have just watched I Married a Witch and then This Gun for Hire was on TV, Veronica plays Ellen, a nightclub performer who gets involved with shifty contract killer Philip Raven, played by Alan Ladd. Her nightclub performances are so cute, all magic and charm. And Alan Ladd's anti hero is unusual, in that he is more psychologically disturbed and complex than most film noir guy's.

I want this ensemble please, nutty guy with busted wrist is optional I am guessing.

It's my niece's birthday today she is one! we are having the circus themed birthday party tomorrow, just thought I would share how gorgeous she looks, wearing a head dress I made for myself which now just looks rather rubbish on me in comparison! Oh and her name, my sister is a big music fan.

I wish my overbite was appealing as hers, Gene Tierney is one of my many favourite actresses, she had a traumatic life suffering from depression, undergoing shock treatment which destroyed many memories, her autobiography is definitely worth a read, she is very honest about what she went through, in a time when it was still very taboo to discuss such matters. I think her beauty is just breathtaking, Leave Her to Heaven, has to be my favourite film of hers, like many people who love the film, I feel sorry for her character, stupid Danny getting in the way.

Furnishing My Imaginary House

Most people wait till they have somewhere they can call their own before they start buying furniture, not I, no I find bargains and buy them and then realise I have no where to put them. My room is very interestingly arranged at the moment just to accommodate two pieces. Thought I would share with you what I got as well as some gorgeous dames in their homes, debating what colours to paint the furniture, I am thinking duck egg blue, maybe sea green, decisions, decisions. This all came to a £100 on eBay, eBay is dangerous...

This dressing table came with a very large mirror, I cannot wait to wear my feathery heeled slippers, and best gown in front of it hah, just need a house now.

Oh yes George I would love to! I watched I Can Get It For You Wholesale (1955) a while ago, and I loved it. Susan Hayward plays a feisty wholesale model, who actually has her heart set on becoming a designer. So she makes her way to the top trampling over a few people in the process, but then sacrifices it all to go back to the man she loves (bleh). The film was retitled This is My Affair, but I much prefer the original title.
