On The Fifth Day Of Halloween My True Love Gave To Me:

Five cauldrons

Something wicked this way comes, Monday? hah. Hope you all had a freaky weekend.

Ginger Snaps (2000)
Is a werewolf film with a difference, a girl becomes one, and it all starts off when she starts her period, I love the link with mensuration and werewolves, I am weird. I know I sometimes feel like I could rip the head off many people when I am enduring the curse. Sisters, Ginger and Bridgette are outsiders in their town, they are fixated with death and are determined to kill themselves before they reach sixteen, however when Ginger gets attacked by a werewolf everything takes a turn for the worse. Mimi Rodgers plays the dippy mum in it, it is worth watching it for her alone.

The Black Dahlia
Mia Kirshner playing the tragic Elizabeth Short.

The Dream Troubled Gothic Boyfriend
Pencil moustache, throws knives, good dancer.

Gomez Addams
aka Raul Julia, attentive wicked sense of humour, what more could a woman want?

  1. I wouldn't be surprised if the onset of werewolfy tendencies as a result of her period comes from some old ideas, especially considering the cycles are the same as the moon... Didn't men used to freak out (I mean, even more so than now) about women bleeding? Well, I know that they were considered unclean and weren't supposed to go into synagogues. I wouldn't be surprised if they thought it was regular, mild possession by the devil or something...

  2. Yes I have read a bit about menstruation being connected, compared to the moon and wolves, I find it fascinating really. Yeah a lot of men and women even act like its something to hide, very odd in this day and age.
