Hello there are petals, how the devil are you? Summer has kind of arrived in Blighty, how novel in July. This is what I wore to work today, somebody once said that I looked like a nurse wearing this, not sure whether that is a good thing. I have had this dress for a long time, it was from eBay it was ridiculously cheap and too big, I have altered it in my own special way (not very well). This bag was a charity shop find a number of years ago, it's a good size. The hummingbird brooch was a lovely birthday gift and the melon earring were a recent bargain from New Look.
Hope your week is full of fruit and sunshine.
I look ever so slightly deranged.
Looking like a nurse is never a bad thing, although I don't think you look like a nurse at all in this lovely frock!! You look cool and pretty! The hummingbird brooch is a sweetie! XXX
ReplyDeleteHah thank you, think they were trying to say I looked dowdy aha.Can never have too many brooches, as you know! xxxx
DeleteYou did a great altering job because that dress looks KILLER on you.
ReplyDeleteAaaw thanks, I need more patience when it comes to sewing! xx
DeleteYou look like a pretty tasty nurse to me! The bust on that dress is perfection. I was once asked if I worked at a pharmacy when wearing a dark blue polkadot dress with a white collar! Those earrings are so cute. xxx
ReplyDeleteShucks thank you! I wish all my dresses fitted me so well. Hah must be a blue thing, or maybe we look like the nurturing kind?! xxx
DeleteGorgeous dress and was that a sneaky bloomer I saw? Do tell!;)
ReplyDeleteThank you, its a sneaky petticoat, it is so worn I should get a new one hah! x
DeleteHot nurse is always a good thing. Such a lovely dress, perfect for this amazing weather. Hope you are getting to enjoy it darling. xxx
ReplyDeleteAaaw thanks petal! The weather is fantastic so poop being indoors all day, but good that the evenings are long, hope you are making the most of it too ;) xxx
DeleteNurses in America used to always wear white, so no American will accuse you of looking like a nurse! However, I have seen nurses in blue in old British movies/TV so I can see the connection. However, I would totally wear a vintage nurse's uniform. I do think the detail on your dress is too fantastic to be a uniform! I really like it (and the shoes, too). I noticed you're finally getting some weather in the high 70s/low 80s. I'd kill for weather like that!
ReplyDeleteYeah Nurses wear blue over here, so think it must be the colour that made them say it hah. Oh you should get one, they have them on eBay quite a bit. The weather is glorious, just hope it lasts, sending some sunshine your way xxx
DeleteBeautiful brooch and earrings, so cute! x
ReplyDeleteThank you ;) x
DeleteThat dress = utterly gorgeous. Looking like a vintage style nurse (which, if this dress makes you look like a nurse, it's an old-school nurse) can't be a bad thing. I have a pair of gray lace up flat shoes which my boyfriend pointed out look like nurse shoes and I now have to be careful what I pair them with because he is right - I can end up looking like a dowdy, rather than foxy nurse. But you definitely don't need to worry about looking dowdy in that dress!
ReplyDeleteWell, helloooooo nurse! (I can't believe I'm the first person to say that. Haha.) This dress looks gorgeous on you. I suppose it could be a bit nursey but nothing wrong with that!

you look absolutely lovely! and you have the best brooches in the world. I too alter my dresses and besides knowing how completely I suck with anything sew-wise, it makes me feel kinda rebellious to sew anyway.
