Embroidered two pieces

Well as I mentioned previously I hit charity shop gold the weekend after last. To be fair the dress on the left is from eBay but had to share it! The gold 1950s two piece cocktail ensemble reminds me of Betty Draper, the hand made grey embroidered dress and jacket is just so pretty. way too woolly to wear at the moment though and the pleated mauve number is so Audrey, I tend to associate all my purchases with people or films.

Also grabbed a perfect little Wednesday Addams style black dress, barely pictured as didn't look great on camera but I have it eyed up to go with all my frilly 1930s collars! The gingham skirt I was going to wear for Lana Del Rey (its asos via eBay) but cannot get my junk in it, massive on the waist and cannot zip past my bum pfft, the flowery skirt was the cheapest at £3.99 and the hound stooth skirt is just perfect for work also get a scarf and an old biddy bag. The most expensive item was the two piece cocktail ensemble at £14.99, its a standing joke with anyone that knows me when they compliment me on clothes I have to blurt out how cheap it was, its a self defence mechanism for having so many clothes!

Dusty Pink Sofa and Flowers

So I am dressing like it's Spring, on Saturday I purchased this fabulously flowery Laura Ashley 1980's skirt, it has buttons and pockets, win win and it was £4.50.

We also bought the rest of our 'necessary' furniture, the pièce de résistance you may have already seen if you follow me on instagram, a dusty pink antique sofa I found it on eBay and put in a best offer, then realised the location of the seller's warehouse wasn't far away. So we drove down on Sunday and ended up buying two wardrobes, two bedside cabinets and a bookcase as well as the sofa for bargain price! This time next week is the big move, I can barely concentrate, I am excited and a little scared of finally being an actual grown up, a grown up who has asked if it's okay if we make dens, stay up all night and watch films and turn the cellar into a cinema. I still need to finish packing!

Four more work days to go!

The Cost of Living: Charity Shop Treasures

Now the move in date is quickly approaching me and my man sauntered around various shops at the weekend for practical items, err how hard is it to find super king size bed linen? answer = very!  My favourite destinations are always the charity shops and second hand haunts. The most expensive of the items pictured are the gorgeous cigarette cards from eBay at £7.45 that I have had for a few weeks.

The delightful flower lamp, I spied at a second hand shop in my soon to be new home town of Edgeley, it was priced up as £7 and I nearly peed with excitement when I saw what a bargain it was, then I got to the till and the owner knocked it down to £5 without me even haggling - something I am incapable of doing. The toile de jouey curtains were another bargain from another second hand shop at £4,even if I don't use them as curtains I can turn them into a dress.

I also found this pretty gold frame which is a lot larger than it looks for £2 and the crystal chandelier for £3.99. The charity shop gods were shining on me this weekend I tell ya.

Right now I should be packing but I am going to pin curl my hair, eat cake and watch Flame & Citron.

What this ol' musty thing?

I am not happy unless the clothes  I buy smell of grandmas, and that they cost me less than £10 a piece. And these items I discovered last Monday and in London all fit that category!

I have been pining for a beaded cardigan for quite sometime now and I found this gorgeous number for £3.99 in PDSA in Bolton.

The mandarin jacket was £4.oo from a charity shop in Urmston, I have addiction to these jackets, that can not be abated.

These two dresses are from Absolute Vintage in London they were only £9 for both, and both very thick and heavy material, possibly crepe? so will be perfect for next week when Winter hits hah. The hair garland was £2 from Spitalfields market, there were loads all hung up on a market stall like a stand for fairies to get accessorised at,I could of bought them all.

And finally you may have seen the mustard hat, but my little owl  was just 50pence and peacock trousers  £2.99. Have you found any bargains recently? Do you know how to get the musty smell out of clothes?

Whose coming for dinner?

Oh what this little collection? Pft I got all of the crockery for £30 from a local charity shop, by jove can you believe it?  The majority of it is Barratts, I am not sure when they are from though. Anywho, I am now sorted for plates for when I do eventually move out of my parents.

The little ship is a lamp I got on eBay, yes it is a lamp! It needs rewiring though, may take me awhile to figure out how to do that! I am wanting a Captain's cabin who fell in love with a mermaid kind of vibe for the living room. I am really enjoying finding bits for mine and my lovely's home, nothing very practical mind you...

Also really want this its one of a pair, but they are going too pricey for me, maybe you can buy them and I can come round to your house and gaze at them? thanks.
