Lobster & Schiaparelli

Elsa looking fabulous
I have always been partial to clothing and accessories that are a bit left of  field and the work of Elsa Schiaparelli is a inspiration to me. I am sure many of you have seen this marvellous lobster dress, that Salvador Dali painted onto the fabric for her. I would love to create something like this for myself, but it would probably end up looking like a five year old had defaced their mother's favourite dress.

Lobster Dress

Elsa's work was innovative, she brought squared shoulders, nipped waists and eccentric prints to the fashion world and I am very thankful for that.

Oh my there's a lobster on my arm
And just to show you what I wore with my lobster:

Information on the delightful Schiaparelli found here.

  6. Dial V: Thank you, it's pretty quirky I love it! It's a dress I made from a 1950s pattern, was hard work but it turned out quite well considering I am an amateur. I need a tripod so I can take better pictures hah x
