Mermaids

From Ariel to Ann Blyth I have always been fascinated with mermaids, when I was eight I used to try and swim with my feet together, you know so I could move elegantly like a mermaid. However, in all honesty I am a pretty terrible swimmer, so I would probably not make a great mermaid, but I do splash a lot so you know, I am half way there. On several occasions I have been known to have giggling fits whilst in water and I seem to sink when this happens. Anyway I digress here are my current mermaid inspirations.

The one who started it for me

Sinking like a siren that can't swim no more

Even though I am still eight at heart, I am slightly more sophisticated with my inspirations, where as I used to wrap bubble wrap around my legs (they look like scales obviously) I now look to wearable fashion to quench my desire to be a mermaid.

  1. if mermaids were good swimmers they wouldn't laze around on rocks, splashing (!) and flirting with sailors. what i'm trying to say is that with your splashing and giggling-sinking skills you've all that you need for a proper mermaid. (well exept for the fishtail but fashion will delivery you an non- smelly equivalent.)

  3. Milingmai: that is so sweet of you to say, what I lack for in skill I make up for in sheer determination hah. Many times whilst on holidays I have lazed on a rock pretending I am a mermaid, with long flowing hair and fish for friends. Think I need to wear a sequin skirt to get the fish tail look. x

Kelly-marie: It's my pleasure I can't wait to see more of your creations. Ann's hair in that film is beautiful you are going to look positively magical! I know we do as soon as I saw a picture of you I was like that's my kinda gal! Hope you are enjoying the glorious weather x
