I had to share with you my most recent (accidental did not think I would win) eBay purchase. It's a 1940s evening dress which is in great condition and came with a matching bow. Which I keep trying to place in my hair but cannot seem to make it work for me, any suggestions would be appreciated!

I added the belt, as high waists are not very flattering on me |

How sweet is the matching bow! |

Telling the time with my freckles,as you do |
I wore this ensemble on Friday for the Royal Wedding minus shoes and accessories as it was way too hot for fur, but I did wear it with small heels, around the supermarket, because I am batty like that.

I have so many gorgeous items I am watching on eBay at the moment, alas I have zero pennies for any more extravagant purchases! I hope I am not alone in the daydreaming of items one cannot afford hah.
That dress is sooo gorgeous!!! Lucky lady:) You look very pretty with the Frida roses..
ReplyDeleteoh, how gorgeous!!! love it!
ReplyDeleteHeidi: Thank you, I know it was such a bargain as well!
ReplyDeleteBaroness: Glad you like it, as your taste is faultless!
Stunning, what a great find! I love the details on that dress, the little black bows are so cute. Ebay is very addictive... I have found some nice things, but I always get over-excited when I'm bidding so I usually tend to bid way too much!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is absolutely gorgeous, I'm so jealous ! I love this outfit !
ReplyDeleteWonderful find! Lovely Lovely xo
ReplyDeleteDial V: Thank you I loved the little details too. eBay is way too addictive, I find myself on it at 1am in the morning, oh and the eBay fever when you bid to high because you do not want anyone else to have it!
ReplyDeleteSolenn: Thank you I am jealous of most of your wardrobe hah x
Feeona: Thank you I am so pleased with it! x
Sooo pretty!!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteFor the bow, did you try sticking a bobby pin through the knot? That's what I always do with bows; it kind of makes them a barrette.
BEAUTIFUL!!! That dress is such a great find and what a gorgeous colour. xxx
ReplyDeleteDakota: Aaaw thanks, I tried doing that but it looked a bit silly with my hair down, so think I will have to wear it in an up do!
ReplyDeleteKelly Marie: Thanks I was not sure about the colour at first because on the original photos it was more of a dusty pink, but I like it now x
Aww what a sweetheart dress! I have a dress that came with a wee bow too, I put the bow on this little black bag I have and it makes my outfit all complete! Here's to freckles! Fingers crossed for more sunshine tomorrow! x
ReplyDeleteZoe: Thank you! that's a good idea to put it on a bag, I know well it seems so far that it will be another lovely day,yay x
ReplyDeleteThat dress is absolutely beautiful, you look so nice!
