Corpse Bride: I want Pink Hair

Okay a lot of bloggers have already covered  Katie Shillingford's wedding, but I just completely fell in love with the styling and the dress. The dress was designed by Gareth Pugh and I think it is perfection, and the veil is just stunning, not to mention the marcel waved pink hair. I do think I need to have pink hair at some point, perhaps when I am older I will have the guts, say seventy? It reminds me of corpse bride, I adore anything with a gothic twist.

  1. Wow, I really love her dress and hair! It's so interesting and beautiful and spooky!
I think it would be fun to have pale pink hair too, though like you, I don't have the guts quite yet!

  3. I hadn't heard of the woman until I saw this pic about 3 days ago! She's gorgeous, and what an incredibley original bridal look! I absolutely agree with you regarding the hair/frock perfection! As for having pink hair,70's would be the perfect time!No bleach required!
Your "gothic twist" is a big part of what attracts me to your blog.

  5. Coincidentally, I was discussing gothic style weddings today with workmates. Someone mentioned that you can get married in some gothic-style building by Abney Park Cemetery here in London. Some of the people in the conversation thought it would be weird to be married by a cemetery but I suggested that it's rather romantic. 'Til death us do part, etc, etc!

  6. Oh, that's one of the best looking weddings I've ever seen!! She looks exquisite! Haha, I'm waiting for gray hair before I go too crazy with my hair color too... then watch out, I'm gonna have locks the color of cotton candy!

  7. I must admit I have no idea who she is and I have little to no interest in weddings but this is probably one of the most gorgeously styled weddings I've seen. Her dress! And her hair. I've often voiced the desire to have pink hair - comes from watching Grease & Are You Being Served? growing up I think - but I think I'll wait 'til I'm older, too. I have the guts to do it, I think, I just can't be bothered with regrowth. ;] So a pink rinse it will be! I want to be like Mrs Slocombe.

  8. Pretty amazing bridal get up, there.. The headdress/veil reminds me of the medieval-style piece Isabella Blow wore on her big day.

  9. Now that's an interesting wedding dress! It's gorgeous and so romantic! Most wedding dresses are so uninspired and sometimes plain ugly...

  11. Helga: so glad you enjoy my gothic tendencies did think it would alienate most people from me hah!

Baroness: You would look so marvellous with pink hair when you're an old baroness.

Miss Marie: I think that sounds so romantic, what could be more poetic!

Dakota: Its beautiful isn't it, I do take some old ladies as inspiration cotton candy hair is definitely where I am heading.

Andi B Goode: I know I am the same most weddings are so generic but this just took my breath away. Mrs Slocombe is definitely going to be my inspiration in later years.

Kelly Ann: It is fantastic, yeah I think Isabella would of improved.

Dial V: Glad you agree, yeah most wedding dresses and particularly bridesmaids are just so dull!

Wendy: Hah that is definitely going to be my new gauge for dresses 'would I want to get married and buried in it?!'
