What A Way To Go (1964)

This zany black comedy is a visual feast to me, it has the most OTT set designs and costume changes nearly every scene which always pleases me. It stars a host of Hollywood stars; Gene Kelly, Robert Mitchum, Dean Martin, Paul Newman and the lovely Shirley MacLaine.  The actual film is rather silly but it is good fun to watch.

The basic premise is that every man that Louisa May Foster falls for (MacLaine) ends up mega rich but drops dead, ever the widow she is always searching for that true love who can give her a simple life. But simple is dull right?

I would like all the above ensembles please. For those of you have seen the film did you enjoy it?

  9. Ahh! Another great pick! The costumes are just one after another perfect! And although Gwen Stefani had a lot to do with my dying my hair pink throughout high school, it was also that Louisa! (and Zandra Rhodes, who pulls off being an older lady with pink hair marvelously!) Zoë x

Zoe: Oh I am a hardcore Gwen fan I persuaded my mum to let me bleach the front of my hair blonde when I was eleven so I could look like her hah. And she is the reason why I go into wearing red lipstick! x
