Thrift Whore

Today a friend in work gave me this excerpt from urban dictionary which is quite fitting for me really (charity shop whore British version). This weekend I got some right goodies; a 1940s velvet hat for £6, a cream blouse with big ass sleeves think its 70s or 80s from a newly discovered vintage stall which is local to me yay, and then a silk horse scarf for £3 and an old biddy skirt for £3.95 it is by Lakeland but looks rather 1930s, I must say, both from a charity shop. Oh and I have had this 1950s arrow brooch from eBay for awhile now and that was only £2, I am cheap. P.S I have a new phone, I have entered the 21st century it has like internet and a camera that works, hence the seductive poses y'all . I have found that I am mostly buying from charity shops these days, as vintage tends to be out of my budget half the time. Where do you spend your pennies? do you budget yourself?

    1. Thank you so much. Yeah, it does tend to be a bit hit and miss for good finds in charity shops, but I always end up finding a few items in the same day. You can never have too many brooches I do think!

  3. Here in the U.S. I am surrounded by cheap shopping, yet the only place that gets me excited is a thrift shop! I have spent more in thrift shops on my holiday here than I have everywhere else combined. The ones in wealthy areas are packed with great labels and practically new things!

    1. Girl after my own heart. See I have tried looking in charity shops in affluent areas but never find anything nice, it seems people with money have rubbish taste hah.

  4. Ohh neat finds!! You look gorgeous! Yes, I'm a fellow thrift whore; I hardly ever set foot in vintage stores. Even if I could afford their prices (which I can't, haha), I love the thrill of finding a good diamond in the rough!

    1. Thank you that is very nice of you to say. Yeah most vintage dresses tend to be so overpriced that I could end up buying about eight second hand items for the same value. And the kick of finding something amazing is half the fun! x

  5. Haha, I love these photos! Very nice ;) I need to get back to 'thrifting' though rarely have much luck there. And vintage is definitely getting well outside of my budget. Bleh.

  7. aw I love that arrow brooch. i should probably budget myself. I've been pretty thrifty lately, but I splurged on something yesterday. it's hard to not buy something that completely blows you away and it's not completely overpriced!

    1. Yeah I became slightly obsessed in finding one, and I did. Yeah when you know it's a reasonable bargain it's hard not to, intrigued to see what it is! x

    1. Aha glad I am not the only one who was a bit behind with my phone! It's all about knowing what you like and zooming in on it as soon as you get into a store, I never try anything on and don't waste time deciding I just get it if its a good price and I like it! x
