I have had this 1950s toile de jouy print dress for months it was several sizes too big, but I still wore it because that's how I roll, however I finally got round to taking it in. I love cotton dresses 'need' more and it was only £10 on eBay. Do excuse the crappy hair it was my first day getting dressed after a week in bed, pin curls were not happening soz. Check out my new asos heels, I am like totally tall in them and feel like my ankles are going to snap, so that's great. I adore toile de jouy and always threaten to take my mum's curtains down a la Scarlett O'Hara, it seems Dita has already done this.
Your dress is fantastic!!! And I loove Dita's as well!:D

I do believe its Vivienne Westwood, so maybe ransack her house to find a copy of it, I will join you hah!

ReplyDeleteHah I have done that so many times when I have been out shopping with my mum, we should just go for it next time hah! and thank you ; ) xx
DeleteOhh your wee flower crown that you made it so cute! I made one last summer and it fell apart after some crazy adventures! I think I need to make another! And your dress has a perfect upper body fit, I love the arms :) Hope you are having a swell weekend! :) x
ReplyDeleteOh thank you! you must make another, would look positively magical amongst your locks! thank you I had a lovely weekend, hope you did too! xx
DeleteLove toile! I, too, have been tempted to make clothing from drapes. I'm much more of a decorator than a fashionista, though, so the drapes get to stay where they are!
ReplyDeleteHah well if you ever feel the urge to tear down your curtains let me know and I will make an ensemble out them x
DeleteI do this all the time: stubbornly wear dresses that are too big for months at a time. Well it looks fabulous all styled up here :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle

Aaaw shucks you're too kind my lovely! Dita is a goddess but I am keeping it real with me bargains hah xxxx
Deletejust loving your dress - absolutely stunning on you - fab-iness !! le
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, you made me smile with that lovely compliment!
DeleteGorgeous, gorgeous dress, and well worth the trouble of taking it in as it looks perfect on you. I think I prefer your dress over Dita's actually, but then, I'm rather demure and prefer to play down my cleavage rather than accentuate it. I would have made a crap 18th century aristocrat!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Miss Marie, my sewing skills are lacking somewhat but it did turn out okay! Yeah they are rather out there but she gets away with it haha x
DeleteLOVE the dress, looks perfect on you & Your blog is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteMargaux
Oh yes, now that's a pretty dress! It looks so frivolous and innocent, perfect for a spring picnic :).
ReplyDeleteLove this dress, I've been searching forever for my very own touile de jouy/blue willow dress. Might have to make my very own.
