Paris When It Sizzles

Well firstly I would like to say thank you to all my new followers! and another thank you to everyone else, I really do appreciate your comments and support, makes me feel wanted!

Paris

On 26th May, I am going to Paris with my loved one, for the first time ever, we are staying in an apartment in Marais. It will also be my birthday whilst I am away, so I am very giddy. So if any of you have been or know of any must see places, please let me know. I definitely want to see the Catacombs as I am spooky girl at heart.  During my research on Paris I discovered the Le Café de L'Enfer, which was a hell themed café sounds great doesn't it, sadly it got shut down in the 1950s other wise I would be going with bells on!

The patrons, having a ball

Oh and I need to visit Cafe des Deux Moulins, which is the one that Amelie worked in and eat lots of macaroons! I am very much in French mode at the moment:

I will be watching this before I go

Umm what what Audrey do?!

Jacques Tati's Playtime

Definitely will be going to Angelina's

I am also confused about what to pack, not sure if I should take a coat or a jacket, decisions, decisions! I always over pack, I am the sort of person that wants at least one outfit per day, but with all the flea markets I should perhaps try and be minimal (that word sticks in my throat). Any packing tips would be helpful!

Ideally this Miu Miu ensemble would be in my suitcase

Hope you all had a ruddy lovely weekend, I watched 13 Assassins (2010), which was amazing I recommend it if you love a bit of samurai action.

  4. Great! You'll love Paris, I have been there a couple of times. The best thing to get to know Paris is just to stroll around and enjoy the city. If you have the time you should definitely visit the Louvre, Montmartre, cemetery Père Lachaise (very beautiful), walk along the Seine, the Tuileries, rive gauche... I could go on forever. I see you'll be staying in le Marais, I think they have some vintage shop there!

  6. Dial V: Well me and my boyfriend tend to walk everywhere anyway, so I think we will end up taking in all the sights along the way. I know I wish I had a small fortune saved up to spend there on vintage finds!

Miss Twinkle: Ooh I cannot wait everyone says it's beautiful x

  7. Aww I'm so excited for you!

The catacombes are amazing you have to go. Also make sure you go to The Port De Clignancourt flea markets, they will blow your mind ( but set aside a lot of time there).

I would highly recommend a trip to Versailles ( a 30 min train ride out of Paris) but well worth it to see Marie Antoinette's house! It's one of the most amazing places I have ever been.

You will love the Film museum and as you are a fellow spooky girl make sure you visit the Pere Lachaise cemetary. It is so beautiful and like a Tim Burton film set and makes a very romantic walk.

I am so jealouse you will have a such magical time, and it's the perfect place to spend your birthday. xx

  9. Versailles is beautiful, especially her farm house. But I love all that over the top interiors malarkey so If it's not really your thing then I would save it for another trip maybe. It is pricey and you could probably spend the time doing some things that you know you'll definitely like. Yes the film museum isn't very well advertised, I used to have to go to Paris alot through work and found a flyer for it in our Hotel. You will definitely love it, it's in Rue de Bercy and we got there on the metro it's pretty easy to find. You will have so much fun, i'm really excited for you. xx
