Toile de Jouy Fooey

I have had this 1950s toile de jouy print dress for months it was several sizes too big, but I still wore it because that's how I roll, however I finally got round to taking it in. I love cotton dresses 'need' more and it was only £10 on eBay. Do excuse the crappy hair it was my first day getting dressed after a week in bed, pin curls were not happening soz. Check out my new asos heels, I am like totally tall in them and feel like my ankles are going to snap, so that's great. I adore toile de jouy and always threaten to take my mum's curtains down a la Scarlett O'Hara, it seems Dita has already done this.

  13. So funny, I once saw a fabric that was very similar to the one of Dita's dress but my mother said 'no it's a furniture fabric, don't do it!'. Seems my mom was wrong :) It's so pretty! And your dress is very nice too! xx

  15. Love toile! I, too, have been tempted to make clothing from drapes. I'm much more of a decorator than a fashionista, though, so the drapes get to stay where they are!

  19. Gorgeous, gorgeous dress, and well worth the trouble of taking it in as it looks perfect on you. I think I prefer your dress over Dita's actually, but then, I'm rather demure and prefer to play down my cleavage rather than accentuate it. I would have made a crap 18th century aristocrat!
