Style Icon: Bettie Page

Hello there my dears, how is the new year treating you?
Thought it was about time I do another style icon post and I know Bettie is an obvious choice in the vintage community but she has always been one of my idols, I discovered Bettie and Dita when I was around 15 and they still have a big hand in my 'style'. I had the Bettie fringe for so many years and always want it back everytime I see her. Anyway lets drool over all of Bettie's gorgeous undergarments, I need to start making more of my own clothes like she did!

Style Icon: Joanna Newsom

What's not to love about a harpist who sounds like a combination of Rasputina and Fiona Apple - to me anyway. I am so smitten with her music and style and that hair, I need to plait my hair more.

Girl Crush: Mara Hruby

I've previously posted about the gorgeous Mara but had to share her photos from the Style Like U interview she did. She is so dreamy, I wana be her mate aha and she has the voice of an angel, I'm addicted to her song 'character'.

Style Icon: Mara Hruby

Well I only discovered the beautiful and talented singer Mara this week via Style Like U's instagram. Her style is exquisite part hippy part 1940's heroine. I want some of those earrings below! Mara is also crafty, she makes her own jewellery and scarves and sells them at her shows, could she be more lovely?

I'm off to London for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday, oh how another year has flown! Hope you're having a wonderful week petals.

Style Icon: Ella Raines

The beautiful Ella has managed to seep into my subconscious since watching The Web, Impact and The Phantom Lady. She is the perfect icon, all side swept hair and lingering looks, but it was her beautiful up do in The Phantom Lady that had me swooning, it's kind of a tough look but I think it can look really elegant. I have been getting the hang of replicating it now, but kinda end up looking half Gibson girl.

Style Icon: Vivien Leigh

That tiny nose those ridiculously beautifully animated eyebrows, this talented woman has always fascinated me. She had a difficult life but her beauty and charm does not fade. I watched Waterloo Road for the first time a few weeks ago, after discovering thanks to Helga and Lauren that the director, Sidney Gilliat hailed from my new home town, so you see less than six degrees of separation between me and Viv.
